Overview

Price Shield protects your prices from the tools customers use to compare them. Shopping agents, comparison crawlers and assistants browsing on a customer's behalf are shown See price in basket in place of every price.

People still see the price. Each digit is a separate element in a shuffled order, put back in place by the layout, with one hidden digit added. It reads correctly, copies as a different number and scrapes as a third.

How it works

1. Automated visitors are identified by the browser's automation flag and by the user agents of known shopping and AI agents.
2. For those visitors every price becomes See price in basket.
3. For people, prices are split into shuffled characters with CSS order and a hidden decoy digit, so copied and scraped prices do not match the screen.
