Best-price guarantees

Promises that the price is the lowest anywhere, which only a rule on the seller can keep.

Why it matters

A best-price guarantee tells the visitor they need not look elsewhere. The guarantee is underwritten by the seller, who agrees not to offer a lower price anywhere else, including on their own website, where they pay no commission.

The result is one price everywhere, with the platform's commission included in all of them. The visitor is guaranteed the best price, and the best price is guaranteed to include the platform.

This audit counts towards Ad Load, with a weight of 3. A category is 75% its two highest-scoring audits and 25% all of its audits, weighted, so a site is judged mostly on what it does most and partly on how many things it does.
