Session recording and heatmaps
Services that record every mouse movement, scroll and click for replay later.
Why it matters
Analytics tell you what visitors did. Session replay lets you watch them do it, as many times as you like, without their knowledge. Hesitation over a price, a cursor drifting towards the close button, a form filled in and then deleted: all of it kept.
Visitors behave most naturally when they believe nobody is watching. Session replay is the only way to observe that behaviour, because they are wrong.
How Outhouse measures it
Outhouse checks whether the page loaded a known session-recording service. Any one scores in full.
This audit counts towards Surveillance, with a weight of 2. A category is 75% its two highest-scoring audits and 25% all of its audits, weighted, so a site is judged mostly on what it does most and partly on how many things it does.
